Hello Playstation Move!

Well, I bought a Playstation Move controller and a navigation controller, plus MAG, as that’s the only shooter supporting Move out there right now.

I’ve only played 2 of the supplied demos, Shooter (accurate but yawn inducing on-rails shooter) and Echochrome ii, an interesting game where you line up shadows to allow a character to run across the screen and escape.

MAG is now loading. It downloaded a 35MB PS3 update fairly quickly but the second 520.84MB update is crawling along.

Yeah, it’s just like the Wii, but with fancy graphics.

Gamestop Trade-in list for Playstation Move

Gamestop are offering a trade in for the Playstation Move starter pack. Trade in 2 games and pay €14.99 for the new motion controller. play.com has the pack for €55.99 so it might be worth checking out how much you can get for these games in other stores as you’re only getting €20 per game, some of which are quite new.

I notice that COD WAW for the Wii is on the list, as is Blur for the PS3 (and my hate for that game is without limit) so there’s plenty to go with. MW2 is there too but I think I’d rather keep that than play Blur again.

Will you be getting the new Playstation Move controller?

Well, finally. It was bound to happen. I…

Well, finally. It was bound to happen. I had a half decent game of Halo Reach! I went 8/10 in a game of Slayer DMRS (which I think is an assault rifle with a scope). Game was on the same level as the tips video in my last post and you can see fairly detailed stats on this page.

I had heard that the stats Bungie offers for Halo were good, but dive into the page above. You can see number of kills by weapon, medals earned (oooh, I got 2 multi kills), and even see a timeline of the game. I would dearly love if Bad Company 2 had something as comprehensive!

Thanks Breeduh for teaming up and playing. It was a blast!

Later – good couple of games of BC2 with Conor and Mike, and then COD WAW after. I like Capture the Flag. Went positive which is always good 🙂

Halo Reach Tips

B3ndro gives some great tips for Halo Reach in the video above. He mentioned using Octagon as a means to practice so I went searching … It’s basically a small octagonal map, big enough for 1 vs 1 game and by the looks of things handy for aiming and practicing headshots!

Hutch vs GoldGlove

Hutch vs someone else but you can see some of the same gameplay. He throws a grenade in the opposite corner a few times, hoping to get a spawn kill I’m sure.

So, anyone up for some Octagon 1 vs 1?

I’m starting to get into the Campaign i…

I’m starting to get into the Campaign in Halo Reach now. I have to admit that after the space battle I was sort of disappointed there was no Elite style docking sequence and classical music to accompany me in…

(From the BBC version, which didn’t have the excellent music of the C64 version)

Oh, I played Halo Reach multiplayer last night and had my ass whooped again. I did get one lucky break. I had my sights on one guy and another stepped in front of him and I got a double kill! Wooh!
After that trouncing I booted up the PS3 and hopped into Onslaught where I had some great games, beating my best scores on Isla and Valparaiso!

Halo Reach Firefight

Remember how I said I couldn’t get into this game? Well firefight is great fun! I just had a great game with duck and ryan lasting 40 minutes of quite tense shooting. When you’re last man standing and you have to finish off the current wave it gets bad, especially as you know your team are spectating.

It’s like Onslaught but at least each wave comes in randomly. You can’t predict that an enemy will be in a certain place at a certain time. That’s probably the score attack game.

Darn, where’s my hat. I bet it’ll go nice with some salt.
