Dinner on June 7th
I’m going to the dinner on June 7th being organised by Damien Mulley. Should be a good crowd there, including Britt Blaser.
I may even make it to the infamous Web 2.0 Conference the next day.
How to get tax relief on your mortgage payments
Instead of spending 10 minutes on hold with your bank, or calling TRS at Revenue at 1890 463626 just go to http://www.revenue.ie/trs1/ where you can enter you PPS number and details of your mortgage and your bank will be informed overnight of any changes such as, oh, like getting married.
10 minutes.. grr.
Fred and the Nail Drivers
Great news for music fans this summer! The Spiegeltent is returning to Cork as part of the Cork Midsummer Festival 2006!
Fred The Band are playing there on June 20th. Tickets are 15 Euro.
The Nail Drivers will play in the Angler’s Rest on June 17th in a charity event so get along and support them! See you there!
Here are a few pictures of the Nail Drivers from a while back. They played a blinder at my wedding and I definitely recommend them!
kick.ie – Irish news, community driven.
kick.ie is a site like digg.com but for Irish news and sites.
They linked to my photoblog which is how I became aware of it.
Tim O’Reilly’s attack on IT@Cork for using the term “Web 2.0” as their conference name is shocking. They have a trademark on the phrase “Web 2.0” so be careful about labeling your website or blog posts!
Getting someone to decide
Creating Passionate Users has another interesting article: Getting someone to decide. I just love the comment about the wise man and the kids banging the drums!
RSS Overload
The thing about being away is that stuff collects.. My bloglines aggregator is now chock a block with feeds containing 20 or more posts. A few sites such as /. and el register have hit the max of 200. I shall probably do the equivalent of mark all as read for many of them. I already did that several times in Thunderbird!
Life’s too short..
Mainstream attention for Cork Bloggers
Damien Mulley says that several Cork Bloggers were profiled in the Sunday Business Post last weekend. Included among them was this little blog!
Does anyone have a copy of that sbpost they don’t want? I read Damien’s post around 23:30 on Sunday night and didn’t get a chance to buy my own.
Weather? It's scorchio in Lanzarote!
Writing here from a very hot Lanzarote! We’ll be back in Ireland on Saturday but it’s been a blast! Dining out every night, relaxing, seeing the sights such as El Golfo, Cuevo De Los Verde and more..
Wait ´til you see the photos next week!
WordPress Love on the beach
OK, so maybe I had something to do with this picture, but I had to counter the bebo message with one of my own!
