Another thing Bad Company 2 Onslaught is…

Another thing Bad Company 2 Onslaught is good for is trying out higher controller sensitivity. I pushed mine all the way to the top and it’s great!

Granted, I’m playing on easy so it only takes 1 or 2 bullets to take down an enemy but it’s amazing how much fast aiming down sight is. Got into a good game on Isla too, just missed beating my previous best score by 1.1 seconds!

It really sucks when your squad is the only one attacking. Or at least it seems that way. In our last game there we lost but it felt like the rest of our team was just hanging back. It’s not as if it benefited them. We got best squad and our lowest score was easily 500 points above the nearest one below.

Some tough games of Bad Company 2 tonight but my KDR remains at 0.82. I played half an hour of Singularity first. I’m enjoying that game. The shotgun makes progress so much easier! 🙂

Edit: David got on just after I left, here’s his blog post about his rather different experience. Me? I’m up at 6am this morning. *yawn*

I’m glad David made his latest smoke post a few days ago. I’ve been running it more and more since and it helped on Valpairaso last night. We were defending (Hi Conor!) and pushed back to the third base, but we were fighting all the way.

The attackers seemed to have an abundance of wookies who liked nothing better than to lay up on the hill firing mortar strikes and shooting into the village. Along with a light tank they did devastating damage to the buildings there. My attention was mostly on the tank but when I cottoned on that wookies were busy I put down a load of smoke on their hill. I think I made them mad. Even their UAV came after me! My KDR was shocking but they never got the last crate. We successfully disarmed it a few times under cover of smoke!

Unfortunately for one of my squad, he left and I got killed by him a few minutes later! Should have stayed with the winning team!

Earlier I had a game with Mike, and we stopped the enemy at the first base on that map. I joined late but still managed to down a helicopter or two!

My KDR was briefly 0.83 before last night’s game but it’s dropped back to 0.82 again. My skill level nose dived by 192 points too! I guess I’ll be first into game and invite the rest of you, eh?

Oh! Run vehicle smoke before you get on the UAV! I knew it could fire smoke but didn’t realise it fires 3 smoke canisters that creates a huge cloud of smoke! I tried it on Isla but unfortunately not enough of our team took advantage of it.

Rush on Atacama Desert is hard. Mike, Co…

Rush on Atacama Desert is hard. Mike, Conor and I played 2 rounds on it last night. Once defending and the second attacking.

In the first game we were pushed back to the last base before we managed to defeat the opposition. The maps are so wide they were able to get through time and again and even though we had full teams on both sides I only managed about 4 kills.
The second game was worse. We were attacking and didn’t even take the first base!

We played other maps with varying degrees of success. It seems to me that BC2 multiplayer is getting harder and harder. Perhaps only the “hardcore” players are left as everyone else has gotten bored of playing the same old maps time and again? Thanks Graham for joining us earlier in the evening!

My KDR is still at 0.82, but probably only just. My skill level plummeted to 222, or 156 depending on which number you look at. My win/loss is 1.53.

Here’s Stonefacelock and co attacking on Atacam Desert. We weren’t quite as successful.

Argh! The team we were just playing with…

Argh! The team we were just playing with sucked! We did a great job defending but alas, they got the plant and blew each of the crates. Still, the other games were great. First one was touch and go but the other team won in the end but we won the next 2 games I think, and finally lost the last one.

My skill level has gone up to 296 (or 166 according to BC2), KDR remains at 0.82 but KDR for the night was a respectable 1.22. Got an award too, the Air Warfare pin. I had the one UAV up almost the whole time on Port Valdez. Destroyed their Hind before it even got off the ground. But later the defenders sent their helicopters back twice to try and kill me. The first time the Hind crashed after I shot it to pieces, and the other heli successfully landed but the solitary soldier who got out was easy pickings for me as I jumped off the UAV controls. I boarded the heli but it only had 2 points of health so abandoned it.

Phew, needed a good night of reasonably fair and matched teams after the previous two nights! Thanks Mike and Gary for playing! Sorry Garry for shooting you when we were defending Alpha. You moved! Good thing it wasn’t hardcore! 🙂

Thanks Mike for the great game of Bad Co…

Thanks Mike for the great game of Bad Company 2 Onslaught. We knocked five minutes off my best time on Valparaiso, hard difficulty. Got 50 kills, no deaths, sitting in the tank the whole way through!

After the game the others in our team realised I wasn’t going to be hanging around and a medic started shooting me so I shot him back. Hilarity ensued. Mike did the turnabout dance, I supplied smoke, then I think he got on the quad bike and we all just shot at each other and jumped around having a bit of fun. I have to admit, I’ve met some nice people playing Onslaught and added at least two of them to my friends list.

No rush for me tonight, but at least Mike had a few good games this afternoon. There’s some hope for us!

You don’t want to hear about our games …

You don’t want to hear about our games of Bad Company 2 tonight. We went up against BF veterans with 4-6 games experience in one squad (trashed us), a level 6 player who got the 3rd highest score on his team (and knew of a location on Port Valdez that only an experienced player would know), guys tossing c4 and mines onto crates so Bravo was dead even before I spawned, or using rockets from afar to kill the crates, and of course M60 wielding medics all over the place.

Thanks Mike, David, Gary for the games. My KDR somehow stays at 0.82, and I increased the KDR of the engineer and medic classes by 0.01 each. My skill level took a nose dive from 224 to 155 however. Hopefully that’ll mean slightly easier games next time.

Edit: The guys continued playing after I logged out but it appears the games didn’t improve. David says he’s taking a break from the game and I don’t blame him.

I played about 20 minutes of Bad Company…

I played about 20 minutes of Bad Company 2 last night. Only 2 memorable events:
1. I play with headphones and I caught the sound of echoing footsteps as I passed by a house on Arica Harbour. I looked up to see a medic who saw me. My grenade thrown in the window didn’t get him but I loaded my 40mm grenade launcher and headed to the door. Suddenly the medic appeared and WHAM! Blew him back with a grenade to the chest! 🙂

2. On Arica Harbour, it’s always a good idea to flank the enemy on the 3rd base. I did so and crept up on a recon guy. DOG TAGS! (copyright 2010 Evadlive)

So, use headphones if you can, you’ll hear things on even a cheap set that you won’t hear from your tv or hifi.
