There aren’t many times I can gloat about my score in any game. Yes, they probably joined the game late replacing people who were playing at the start of the round of Onslaught but just let me have my moment will you?

Another thing Bad Company 2 Onslaught is good for is trying out higher controller sensitivity. I pushed mine all the way to the top and it’s great!
Granted, I’m playing on easy so it only takes 1 or 2 bullets to take down an enemy but it’s amazing how much fast aiming down sight is. Got into a good game on Isla too, just missed beating my previous best score by 1.1 seconds!
I tried to play Singularity online a few minutes ago. Tried. I tried to join an extermination game first but failed, then a creatures vs soldiers game. Someone actually joined the lobby! Wow!
Unfortunately he left 10 seconds later when it became obvious nobody else was joining. Oh well.
Anyone played multiplayer Singularity?
Remember Oink! the comic from the ’80s? Ah happy memories. There are two issues archived here, and the Wikipedia page on the comic is a fountain of knowledge.
It didn’t last long but I’m pretty sure I bought the very last issue. This comic strip rings a bell..
Enjoy Conor, I know you will! (via)
It really sucks when your squad is the only one attacking. Or at least it seems that way. In our last game there we lost but it felt like the rest of our team was just hanging back. It’s not as if it benefited them. We got best squad and our lowest score was easily 500 points above the nearest one below.
Some tough games of Bad Company 2 tonight but my KDR remains at 0.82. I played half an hour of Singularity first. I’m enjoying that game. The shotgun makes progress so much easier! 🙂
Edit: David got on just after I left, here’s his blog post about his rather different experience. Me? I’m up at 6am this morning. *yawn*
Geoff announced Hupit Gaming in his latest video. I’d swear I remember him talking about that before but Colin reminded me of it this morning so I registered.
At the end of this video Geoff gives a run down of how different parts of the site work. It has a very neat sharing gamertag section where you can search for other players to play with.
I feel old now because I appear to be the oldest BC2 player in Europe on the site. Oh dear. Look for either my XBL or PSN username or simply the username “donncha” to see my gamer profile.
Gaming meets social media! Well done to Geoff and WoodysGamertag for spotting a niche in the gaming world and creating a valuable website.
Now, some suggestions and bugs I found:
This ars review of Blacklight: Tango Down is quite scathing. What caught my attention though was this paragraph:
Also note that the game also uses the Massive network to deliver advertising to the game, which means every billboard and poster is advertising a real-world product. The game has a futuristic aesthetic, and the ads stick out in an uncomfortable way. If blatant advertising is a turn-off, this is not your game.
No other review mentioned the adverts so maybe they didn’t turn them on until recently. I didn’t see them in any Youtube footage of the game either. Anyone else noticed the adverts?
The game has been out for a little while now. That initial “something new” glow has to have worn off by now. Is it worth the purchase price?
If you’ve played Little Big Planet recently you’ll have come across the name “Stephanie Raven” numerous times. Somehow she gets her levels on the first of the “Cool Levels” planet all the time.
I first figured out that something was wrong when I played a level that looked eerily familiar but didn’t have the familiar face on it to denote I finished it. She’s not the only one. This thread was near the top of a search for her name and pointed at this one about Clay_20_November, another LBP spammer.
It’s a pretty sad way to spend your time if you have to copy LBP levels and post them as your own for validation in this life.
These days I skip forward a few pages to find newer levels and that helps. There are some stunning levels hidden in there!
I think I have to agree with Damien. This is the best trailer for a conference ever!
It’s for The Dot Conf in Dublin on July 22nd. I won’t be going but there’s a great line up of speakers!
