What did Bad Company 1 look like?

I was a big fan of Bad Company 1, the single player game, last year when I bought it. Night after night I played it until I got to the village where you have to blow up the bridges to stop US forces advancing. No matter what I did I could not complete that stage! It was so frustrating! I bought MW2 and a Gold subscription to Xbox Live shortly after and haven’t really looked at BC1 since.

So, it was nice to see that bharlan2002 has posted a commentary on “Harvest Day”, a map set in rolling hills and farmhouses. Unfortunately his commentary is too low but I still enjoyed it and I wonder if DICE will bring back some of the maps from the previous game. There are still two VIP slots left in the store. Let’s hope they fill them with real map packs, and not “mode packs”.

Medal of Honor Gameplay Video

Cardsnumber7 is the first person on my subscriber list to post a Medal of Honor gameplay video to Youtube. He says himself that he’s figuring out how to play the game and the commentary isn’t very good but it gives a good idea of how the game looks and plays.

Geoff held a streaming session on justin.tv playing MOH but when I hopped onto his channel he was playing Arica Harbour in BfBC2! I guess MOH came later.

Now I’m wondering how many of my online friends are taking part in the MOH beta. Field Operative is, though he’s on Xbox and the beta is delayed a week on that platform. Geoff is, on PS3, Mike too?

Field Operative linked to more videos, I hope he doesn’t mind if I post them too. They’re tiny on his blog!

Ah feck, tempted now to pre-order it to get in the beta!

Bad Company 2 Onslaught

Onslaught has just been announced. It’s a coop game for Battlefield Bad Company which sounds really interesting.

Onslaught is bringing co-op gameplay to Battlefield for the first time on console. The new game mode puts you and up to three friends against the enemy on Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes and Nelson Bay – redesigned with new lighting, time of day, added vehicles and other effects. Each map has a dedicated gameplay focus, requiring different levels of teamwork in order to complete the objectives against an onslaught of enemy AI. Vehicle warfare comes to the forefront in Atacama Desert while Nelson Bay focuses squarely on infantry assault. Players can compete in squads and check individual progress via the dedicated Onslaught leaderboards.

(The video is nothing special, 1/3 of it is company logos!)

The one fly in the ointment is that it won’t be free. If it gets good reviews and if my friends on PSN and Xbox Live want to buy it I’ll probably pick it up.

Unfortunately if you’re on PC, you’re out of luck due to the way they’ve deployed/designed their servers.
