The WD TV media player arrived this morn…

The WD TV media player arrived this morning!

Much sooner than expected the postman delivered a box from Amazon containing the WD TV “HD Media Player” and a 16GB Cruzer flash drive from Sandisk. The media player works as advertised and played all the movies I through at it. The Cruzer USB flash drive is unfortunately quite slow at writes (about 3MB/sec) but is perfectly adequate for streaming movie files from it.

The Playstation 3 has been rescued, but video quality is dire through the shipped composite cable. I don’t have a HDMI socket on my monitor, so I can’t wait for this component cable switcher to arrive.

Playstation 3 and Xbox 360

  1. Oooohhhhh very nice indeed.

Now you’ll have a decision to make Xbox or PSN. Sometimes life can be abitch and tough decisions have to be made 😉

  2. I’m going to try both. But Bad Company 2 is a right arse of a game when you start off. I’m level 8 on Xbox and close to 3 on PS3 but the difference in guns and perks is significant.

Sasben was playing Squad TDM and I joined the game, but I was way out of my league so I didn’t hang around for long before retreating to a game of Rush. Hmm, didn’t do too well there either as the enemy knew how to play as a team. I did hear the odd voice on mic but tactics were out the door.

I played a few games with David and we finally won a round or two, but I’m going to hate looking at my stats when they update. Gulp. Oddly enough I couldn’t hear him at all, but I know he did as I called him back to get a health pack at one stage so I blabbered on. Hope it didn’t annoy him! 🙂

OMG, playing multiplayer games on standard definition is murder. Please please please cable deliver soon!

    1. I just remembered one good moment. At medium to long range I took out 3 enemy with an LMG. I think one of them warned a squad mate because someone flanked me a few seconds later and put an end to my kill streak.

  3. Grrr, 3 days later and my order for the cable switcher is still being “prepared” by Play Asia. Be patient, be patient. David and Geoff will still be playing BC2 next week!
