It looks like Python may be making it’s way to a Series 60 mobile phone soon! I may actually learn how to code in Python if this becomes available!
On that note, I may buy a new phone. The keyboard on my 7650 is getting cranky, some keys need to be pressed hard, others print characters twice. I could take the phone apart and clean the keyboard but now the plastic cover on the thumbstick/joystick thingy is coming apart. If I buy another phone, I’d like another Symbian device – Triz really is a great Tetris clone that I’d miss. Now, if I could only get a version of Go! for the phone I’d be happy and content.

UT2K4… ooooh!
Take a look at this screenshot and try not to drool too much. I can’t imagine any machine I own running this game! Mel – when are you buying? Your PC’ll run it I should think!
Drudged up news?
So, John Kerry apparently had an affair and the Drudge Report has the low down on it. Isn’t that a right wing website? Don’t they have their own agenda? Maybe they’ve cottoned on that Kerry may be the strongest candidate and they want to get Dean back in the running (Disclaimer – I know a little about Dean’s policies, but none at all about Kerry!). This news was reported verbatim on the early morning 2FM radio news but thankfully by this afternoon, Today FM at least, were quoting someone who casts doubt on the Drudge Report site.
‘lest we forget, if it’s on the Internet it must be true!
Hoffmania has more and links to a story dismissing the story.
GEOS Available for Download!
This is so cool! I must take a look at this later. Of course, I only know one person who used GEOS, and he used it to write his letters when we swapped demo disks all of 10 years or more ago.. Hmm, knowing my hoarding abilities, I probably still have them at home somewhere. Slashdot has plenty of comments and links!
So somebody *did* get that leaked NT code to compile?
Horrors of horrors! Play the psycho music!
Thank you Ryan Tubridy for the winning rendition of various horror flick theme tunes this morning! Cringed first but then laughed at it! Gonna enjoy the coffee and chat with Earhart tomorrow!
Photo of the week
The photo.net photo of the week is a stunning one! Really unusual perspective, and the colours just jump out at you!
And while we’re on the subject of stunning photographs, here’s a beautiful image of a droplet reflecting the world around.
Using the Canon EOS1-D Mark II at the Super Bowl
Here’s a glowing review by a professional photography of Cannon’s new DSLR. Sounds amazing, but I’m sure the price tag is amazing too! Includes photos, including the infamous Janet Jackson incident! (via photography blog)
Life After The Oil Crash
Life’s going to be pretty grim if this guy’s right. How to fix it? I dunno! Let “them” worry about it! I’ve got enough on my mind!
Web serving on 2.4 and 2.6
Saw this on slashdot so probably everyone else has too.. Anyway, this comparison of the Linux 2.4 and 2.6 kernels is interesting, if only to show that serving web pages under Linux 2.6 “more effectively used system resources and served 5 times more Web pages than the 2.4.18 kernel did.” Boss, can we upgrade now?
Haunted Houses, Ghosts and Poltergeists
I need a spooky category.. Gerry Ryan has had a few calls from women saying their houses are haunted. I’ve an open mind about this and wouldn’t dismiss it out of hand at all.
The first caller said that she saw a silver haired woman lying on the bed next to her one morning, she turned away and back again and the woman was gone. She heard her child mumbling one night and went into her room later and the child said that she had been trying to call out and she was held down by something. Last Monday she took 3 photos of her children and apprently there’s an hump-backed old woman with a cane in the picture. A psychic told her that the woman in the house doesn’t want them living there! *gulp*
There’s more, and it’ll probably be repeated on Saturday morning so have a listen then!
