A Bird’s Eye View of Cork

A drone flew over Cork City capturing the cityscape from an unusual viewpoint. You may even recognise parts of it from the photos of Cork I’ve posted in the past.

I honestly don’t know if this is legal or not but it’s impressive. Watch it before it gets taken down!

  1. Not surprisingly, some are not happy about someone flying a drone above a city..

“If it is an unmanned aircraft it requires operating permission from the IAA whether it is carrying a camera or not. We need responsible reporting to inform the public of the requirement of licensing, training and the inherent dangers to the public when an illegal unmanned aircraft operator is flying,” he said.

In a statement, the IAA declined to comment on the specific case but said any person operating a remotely piloted aircraft “must obtain a permission to fly and an aerial work permit from the IAA, before commencing operations in Irish airspace”.
