Modern Warfare 2 and Bad Company 2 were a complete fail last night. I got mowed down in MW2 by everyone else, and in BC2 I joined the game as a medic only to discover I had one squad mate who quickly disappeared and wasn’t interested in playing as a team.
Oh, and I unlocked the defibrillator and the enhanced medkit. Reviving downed team mates was useful though it’s a hard job.
Still, at least I got a positive KDR in one game when I manned the gun on a tank!
On the bright side, all the bad games mean that when you get a good game it is like Manna from heaven. Or at least makes you not want game disc as a coaster any more…..
Geoff’s posted a couple of short BFBC2 tip videos on his sasbenjr YouTube channel, and I think in one of them he gives advice on the medic class – including to make sure that the area is clear before reviving your team mate. http://www.youtube.com/user/sasbenjr
Excellent, I checked his channel yesterday and he only had the beginner weapons video up.
One of the difficulties I experienced was getting to the front unharmed to heal others. On the little mini map you can see crosses (almost dead) or even a static heart beat squiggly line icon for someone who’s dead but can be revived but you’ve only got a few seconds to revive them.
Nice 50 points (same as a kill) if you do revive them, and restores one ticket if you’re attacking. I laid down a few medkits in one location last night and even though I was killed seconds later as I advanced again from the spawn point (no squad mates so I started right from the back) I got maybe 120 points from heals and team kills as I ran! 🙂
Sounds like you need to find yourself some decent squadmates. In the sasbenjr vids he’s playing in a squad so they’re moving together which makes it easier for medics to do their job with both proximity and protection. That’s not to say you can’t do the same with a random squadmate as WoodysGamertag showed in his vid where he (medic) and his assault class squadmate set up shop in a building and did a good job of resupplying each other.
At least I’m not alone in my MW 2 failings……..
I read your post this morning and it brought it all back to me. Good job on the 4 kills in Afghan though!
🙂 thank you. Like I said it’s moments like that which make it all worthwhile…rare for me which makes it even sweeter
