It's a boy!

picture of Adam

Today my life changes with the birth of my son Adam! After a lengthy labour he was born at 5:51am this morning. Jacinta went through a labour from hell for 30 hours but her heart melted when she laid eyes on Adam.

I would write more, but I’ve only had 4 hours sleep over the past 2 days and I need to hit the leaba.

  1. Ahhhhhh! What can I say apart from a loud Congratulations to the three of you!!

Welcome Adam, and welcome Donncha to the start of the rest of your life [you’ll know what I mean by that in about 25 years time]

  2. Best wishes to all of you. Sounds like a dreadful time for Jacinta, but the bad memories go away pretty quickly.

    Good luck and congratulations!

  3. So happy to hear the news!! Congratulations to all of you and good job to Jacinta!! Adam is a cutie…

  5. 30 hours, poor Jacinta. Congrats to to you both and Hello and Welcome to Adam, he’s gorgeous. Can’t wait to meet him. Hope you’re prepared for the next 6 weeks as that’s when the sleep deprivation is at it’s worst. My advice, hope and pray that J breastfeeds 😉 Thankfully Sharon did which made my nights a lot easier. As Sharon was telling you before, say goodbye to you and J having quiet meals together for a long time!

  6. I was just clicking around…random browsing. Never heard of you and don’t know what you blog about. But I saw you had a baby and said a prayer for you and your new kiddo.

I hope your son has a fantastic life!!!

  7. This will be one of those, “who the ‘bleep’ is that”? postings. I landed here as a result of my experimentation with WordPress. After seeing the posting today about your wonderful new additional, I couldn’t help but leave a note. It is an interesting journey you are embarking on — you will be laughing one moment, and ready to turn “Dreyfuss” the next. You will soon learn that, despite having 318 cable/satellite TV channels, there still isn’t anything worth a flip on at 2:13 am (and yes, you will be awake at this time.)

I have 3 terrors…I mean children, and can offer only a tiny bit of advice.
    1) Accept ALL offers of assistance (even if you hate the person making the offer).
    2) Sleep EVERY chance you can. Sleep EVERY chance you can.

Congratulations – from across the pond!!

  8. Congrats on the new arrival. We were in Mary & Matt’s when we heard the news so Matt showed us the photo of Adam. Hope to catch up with all 3 of ye very soon

  9. Hey Congrats Donn and Jac

You will have to send me your address so I can send you some Microsoft branded baby clothes!

  10. Thanks everyone for the kind comments! I read them out to Jacinta while she was in hospital which cheered her up no end.

We’re back home now and boy is the first day with a baby at home tough. Today has been much quieter thankfully!

  11. Wow! Congrats. I just got the news. Always a little late to the party. Your life will never be the same. But I promise it will be better just because of the love. Remember that when diapers pile up and you can’t get the smell out of your nose for years, and he asks for the keys to the car for the first time. 😉 It’s about love. In spite of it all, it’s about the love.

  12. Best of luck to you all from NZ. (cats are ok but dont tell anyone else i said )
