Damien Mulley coined a new word a few days ago.. boggersphere
– here’s my definition, adapted from the blogosphere one.
“Boggersphere – The totality of Oirish weblogs or Oirish blog-related webs.”

RateMyTeachers.ie – Ireland Education and Teacher Ratings by Students and Parents
The ASTI wants to ban access to RateMyTeachers.ie and may even sue to have the site removed according to an interview I heard this morning.
I looked up a few of my teachers and comments were mostly positive.
However, the moderators must be doing their job as a number of comments were blank.
Strangely, the media report the site as ratemyteacher.ie but in fact it’s ratemyteachers.ie *shrug*

National day of mourning?
Should we have a day of mourning in memory of the Pope? Yes, we should.
Have it next Sunday and encourage everyone to go to mass and pray.
Andrea Bocelli .. singing by the Lee
Andrea Bocelli is to perform at Collins Barracks, Cork in July.
It was damn hard buying tickets on ticketmaster as their site bent under the pressure of people clicking “buy” all of a sudden.
I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that they sold out within minutes!
Sorry, we are unable to fulfill your specific request.
We're going to see Tom Baxter!
On the way home this evening from my aunt’s home we tuned to Red FM and heard they were offering tickets to go see Tom Baxter performing in the Savoy on Thursday! All you had to do was text in your name followed by the word “baxter” to enter the competition!
I didn’t expect to win, but they rang back a few minutes ago and Jacinta answered a simple question so we’re going to see live music on Thursday! Woo! 🙂
Topography of Ireland
Here’s a very large 3293×4168 topographical map of Ireland. It’s huge!
Here’s how they did it.

SSIA – taxing forms
I heard on the news at the weekend that a form will have to be filled out and signed at least 3 months prior to the SSIAs maturing. If not, then (I think) all the profit made on the account will be taxable(including the generous 25% top-up that made the scheme a must-have for every Irish resident!)
Revenue have published instructions on their site so go look at them.
Don’t worry, you won’t have to sign anything until at least 2006, and your bank should send you out the form!
All About Ireland
The Uncyclopedia page on Ireland is a great read although the Nationmaster page may be more factually correct! (via ntk and dangerousmeta)
Irish Photography
Ar an la seo, La Fheile Phadraig, ta about.com ag feachaint ar griangrafadoireacht Gaeileach agus na daoine sa tir seo a bhfuil baint acu leis.
(On this day, St. Patrick’s Day, about.com is looking at Irish photography and the people in this country involved in it.)
I didn’t get in to see the parade, it’s overcast, my camera is still in for repair and it was too easy to lie in bed and relax!
