GIMPshop – A gimp in photoshop's clothing
Here’s GIMPshop, a version of the GIMP that looks like Photoshop. It’s a 40MB download for the Mac OS X version.
I’d hate to have to maintain this beast…
What made this project especially difficult is that there isn’t one file that holds all of Gimp’s tool names and menu structure. I’ve modified hundreds of files and combed thousands of lines of code to make this version of Gimp a reality.
There’s an RPM binary here for Linux users. To be honest I could never find my way around the Photoshop interface as I’m so used to the GIMP one, but whatever brings people into the fold…
Where to get memory cards?
For future reference. My brother asked where he should get memory sticks for his new camera. I asked on #linux.. Here’s a few suggestions if you live in Ireland or the UK.

WordPress.. earn a buck releasing free software
So, Matt accepted articles for publication on the WordPress website that are not WP related. They are (were? The Google searches linked to don’t return anything) there for generating revenue and nothing more.
There are plenty of ways to make money doing free software, but they usually mean doing work for someone else and sometimes that code doesn’t get released. Or you rely on the goodwill of others to donate and that doesn’t happen often!
Matt’s done a huge amount of work for WordPress and I wish him well finding another source of revenue to cover his hosting costs, compensation for his time and other costs.

We're going to see Tom Baxter!
On the way home this evening from my aunt’s home we tuned to Red FM and heard they were offering tickets to go see Tom Baxter performing in the Savoy on Thursday! All you had to do was text in your name followed by the word “baxter” to enter the competition!
I didn’t expect to win, but they rang back a few minutes ago and Jacinta answered a simple question so we’re going to see live music on Thursday! Woo! 🙂
