The Bohemian Rhapsody Trailer in Lego

It’s hard to believe the Bohemian Rhapsody movie is 7 years old. It’s a music documentary about a band that plays the music of Queen, charting their rise from unknowns to playing sold-out gigs, just like the real Queen band.

Anyway, that’s enough of a commentary about what a fantasy the movie was. The trailer was pretty good and Brickfilm Day did an outstanding reproduction of it. This post has been sitting in my drafts folder since 2018, so it’s about time I published it. I’m impressed all the videos are still live after 7 years.

Here is the original trailer. I love what they did for their Live Aid appearance.

Then the LEGOversion of the trailer.

And now side by side. Impressive isn’t it?

  1. @donncha Very amusing"Ad-blocker not detectedConsider installing a browser extension that blocks ads and other malicious scripts in your browser to protect your privacy and security. Here are a few options."https://odd.blog/2026/01/07/the-bohemian-rhapsody-trailer-in-lego/Well, I run uMatrix and on some platforms UBlock or Noscript. So embedded youTube hardly ever works. Do you have to be logged in now?The links workhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ezLz_pe9PYNot to block ads, but to block malicious 3rd party scripts.

  2. @raymaccarthy ah, interesting. I haven't come across uMatrix before. I usually use ublock origin myself and can count on one hand the number of people who have commented on the presence of the "not detected" notice.

    1. @donncha I like its flexibility.I tried it and ublock origin when noscript was blocked by mozilla years ago.It might not be being maintained, but it works well. I tried Vivaldi for a while and could only get TheGuardian and some other sites to work by disabling its built in blocking, which is stupid. BBC & CNN have served malware via adverts in the past.Example: scripts can reprogram DNS on routers if the default passwords are unchanged, then even HTTPS banking vulnerable to MitM attacks.
