Naked Sophie Dahl ad banned – …
Naked Sophie Dahl ad banned – This poster caused some consternation earlier in the week in the town of Ballina, Co. Mayo. The poster was in the window of a chemist there, and obviously enough distracted drivers as they drove past. Amid complaints from “middle-aged women”, the local Mayor first censored the poster with a sheet of paper placed strategically, but then removed the poster from the window and brought it home. According to the Mayor himself, talking on radio yesterday, the poster now rests safely by his fireside at home.

Adding fonts to Red Hat 8.0 – …
Adding fonts to Red Hat 8.0 – I knew about ~/fonts but I didn’t know I had to run fc-cache, I should have read the release notes – /usr/share/doc/redhat-release-8.0/RELEASE-NOTES-i386.
True Type fonts were already in a system directory so I didn’t lose out.. Xft handles other dirs.
And specific to Open Office, here’s how to add fonts to that application. Even does TT fonts! I pointed it at ~fonts, dialog box popped up and it kindly informed me that 63 fonts had been imported! I fired up Open Office then, and Arial and all your favourite Windows fonts were there for the picking. My boss would be happy.
