Proposed ban on photography on New York City Transit – Articles have been doing the rounds about this ban. I should probably post my one or two photos I took on the New York MTA last August. There’s a couple I like out of the bunch!
Blur to reduce size? – I dunno, it’s not a technique you should use simply to get smaller image sizes but it could be handy. Plenty of other speed tweaks on that site too for website writers.
Do you like beautiful photos? I do. I don’t pretend to be amazingly good at it or whatever but I like what I like. So does Mike Johnston in his latest article. No doubt he’d have a few words to say about my photos! Read the article, he has a lot to share!
I wouldn’t mind reviewing several cameras if I could travel to China and do so! Actually, i’d love to do either of the above so if anyone wants to send me to China leave me a comment below! heh.
What’s Next for Digital Photography? – ooh, I like the idea of putting several CCDs into a camera!
I hadn’t come across Outdoor Eyes before. Looks good! Good info on selling and getting your photos displayed!
Several tips on composition here. I might even get around to reading some of the stuff linked here!

A few days ago I mentioned a photography tutorial site. This thread on dpreview links to it too, but there’s lots of great comments and advice from experienced photographers there and a couple of interesting links too!

Andy WIlliams posted this excellent link to the STF. The American School of Paris has plenty of other tutorials, links and articles.

Here’s a good and lengthy article on Digital Panoramas. There are several good tips about taking the photo as well as a walk through using PTAssembler.
Me? I’m still stuck using the GIMP, CBA learning Panotools as I seem to get “good enough” results without them!
The author has a blog post about the article, with links to other stuff he’s written on the subject!

Not sure where I found this link, might have been del.icio.us. James Nachtwey has an online gallery and his images are well worth a look. Be warned that it’s not all roses and honey in his world…

The latest Vivid Light magazine is online and there’s certainly a few interesting articles. Mark quoted from two of the articles but I had a quick read of the Nude vs. Naked story. Judging by the comments left, it’s a hot issue among readers of the mag, although to be honest the nudes were very tasteful and hardly worthy of the negative attention they received.
Then again.. “ohmygod! is that Janet Jackson’s nipple?” *shock*

Really good and lengthy article on camera filters. I’ve only read a bit of it but it’s enlightening. I have to disagree with his assertion that protective filters not be used. I agree that they degrade image quality somewhat but I’d rather have the security of that uv filter..

Here’s a good tutorial from Andy Williams on the STF. It’s illustrated by screenshots and looks like a good use of the clone tool, and cleanup using layers and other tools.

Two articles on Luminous Landscape with photos taken in Spain:

• Minolta A2 on Location – A review of the Minolta A2. I was pleasantly surprised when I read the author’s comment on the EVF of the camera. Electronic viewfinders simply aren’t good enough to display a scene properly. After learning about histograms previously I put it to use a few days ago and it certainly makes a marked difference to the exposure of a photograph!
• The Seville Fair – Great photos and commentary. I want to go travelling again!
