Nice! This tutorial describes how to convert a “normally shot” photograph into an infra-red photo. It uses Photoshop, but the techniques described can be done in the GIMP too! Here’s a few more bits too.

Here’s a plugin for the GIMP that you can use to erase the background.. a Windows .exe is included, and source but not a Makefile. My interest doesn’t extend to writing one unfortunately!

Gimp plugin for “intelligent Erasor”
replace the selection with an interpollated background. If the border along the selection is relatively continuous, i.e. a pretty boring background, then this tool works as an erasor.

What Display Should I Buy? and Adding A Diffuse Glow To Your Images caught my eye before I head to bed.. zzzz. Damn, shouldn’t have had those cups of coffee this evening!

The Cork Ladies mini marathon is on tomorrow, starting at 2pm! I’m going in to take a few photos of the crowd and competitors! Hope we get the weather we had today!

In this latest tutorial from Digital Outback, the lack of decent histograms is shown by the author as a stumbling block towards properly exposed photos! *Phew* I didn’t mean for that sentence to be so convoluted!

A frame can really add to a photo – it’s something I haven’t looked at much, but these two photos, Summer Time and Untitled 1 both use whitespace to good effect! It looks like the subjects are bursting to get out of or squeeze into the frame!
