I sell MINI Coopers for a living. I can tell you the cars are incredibly safe, and as anyone who has popped the bonnet in one will testify, it’s incredible that your legs aren’t cut off in the event of a head on collision. There are *no* crumple zones in the MINI, in some variants the engine bay is so full that they’ve had to relocate the battery into the boot! And through all that they still have a 4 star NCAP safety rating. If the Ford does weigh more, it should have proportional brakes to compensate, and all the necessary crumple zones. There is no excuse for vehicles being poorly manufacturered anymore. This is the 21st century!
