Linux Photos and Imaging – loads of links here!

While searching for gimp related weblogs, I stumbled across this entry on a weblog. 🙁 (scroll to the bottom and read the last entry if the browser doesn’t go there automatically)

Paul Collins corrected me as to the function of the Mozilla Leech tool. It downloads all the links off a page, not all the content (images etc) of a page. Mozilla has the “Save with content” option for quite a while, thanks!

Maybe it was biting off more than I could chew if I thought I could make the County Hall, Cork look interesting and in context.

The Weir, Lee Fields
River Lee – lots of sky, I’m very happy that this came out the way it did. THe sky is very blue and most of the surrounding landscape is bright and not underexposed. Great light in the morning!

Inside Cork – *sigh* I was in blackrock taking photos last September and saw this boat. I should have taken a photo but there were 3 men talking and looking at me strangely so I didn’t.

Anyway, I wanted to link to this story about the Army Ordnance Corps in Cork. It’s a well written and interesting look at the bomb disposal squad. Unfortunately Inside Cork don’t provide recent archives of material so this link will be about something different next Thursday so read it ASAP!

Some of the photos I took yesterday came out well. I spent half an hour this morning photographing the river again while the mist hung over the water. Beautiful down there, and I filled a 64MB smart media card!
I really should bring my camera cable to work..

I wish I had my USB cable with me today. It’s a beautiful day out and I took the car to the Anglers Rest to take a few photos.
The Anglers Rest is a pub on the banks of the River Lee and the scenery around that area is breath-taking. Expect some of the photos soon!
I met a man there who told me he swims in the river every day! He’s a taxi driver by trade but makes time to visit the river every day. ‘bit cold for me thanks! Turns out he knows my uncle too, ‘s a small world!
