I saw this imge gallery used on a commercial photo site a few days ago. Looks really nice. Hmm. Now I need cheap hosting to host all the photos I want to put online. I’ll probably use a tripod account or resurrect my geocities account!

When Newer is Not Better
Sometimes a redesign isn’t always better. No, I’m not a designer so comments about my great web design work will be ignored! 😛
mooncheese – DHTML and Javascript Demo
My machine’s a bit underpowered so this took a while to get going. mooncheese looks good from the small bit I watched. Be warned that you should probably not load this in your browser if you have windows/tabs open that you can’t risk losing!
CSS and Web Design Stuff
Wooh! Here’s a nice Online CSS Optimizer/Optimiser! But watch this space, Kae Veren’s working on a much better one! 🙂
This web design guide from Adam Polselli looks promising. Must delve into it later!
Here’s how to create horizontal frames using CSS. Thanks Kae for finding that for me!
These web sites are identical, or are they?
Oh yeah! Nice survey! It compares the websites of ten web designers and notes the similarities and differences between them. Lookee here, they’re almost all the same!
What is hence noteworthy is that all these designs resemble themselves very much. They use a panel of common element, and then place them at identical locations on their pages. Hence, the difference between one web site and another is then merely colors and pictures.
Broadband in Blarney!
Woohoo! I got the DSL connection going eventually! *phew* My phoneline extension cable isn’t the greatest, and I couldn’t remember the password I entered when I signed up for the 3 month free trial with IOL.
Naughty IOL – you should email the username and password when you send that nice advertising blurb after signup!
/me got a big grin on my face!
Webnote – online sticky notes!
Webnote looks good! The source is even available under the BSD licence! Unfortunately it’s not packaged. you have to download it from the CVS tree!
How To write Efficient CSS
This is a good, short tutorial on cleaning up your CSS. I’ll have a read of it later when I want to edit my blog template again!
Ads Suck, Internet Sucks Bandwidth
Using hosts file you can stop most of the banner adverts out there in one fell swoop. I’m installing this at home. Browsing via a 56K modem is painful enough…
Mozilla Remote Exploit
Looks like a remotely exploitable hole has been found in Mozilla and Firefox. ‘Course, given the percentage of these browsers in the browser population one might be forgiven for not looking at this advisory with the attention it deserves. I bet a large minority of the visitors here and to linux.ie use the Mozilla family of browsers however.
Still, it’s been fixed in Moz 1.7 and FF 0.9, so upgrade, there’s no reason not to!
