Will Filters Kill Spam? – Nope, but they’ll help a lot. Over the holidays I received over 400 spam emails. I had one false positive, that was from someone using a mail server that had been blacklisted. I had 3 spams in my inbox. That’s not bad. That’s Spam Assassin.
(Thanks Keith, and to set your mind at ease, Spam Assassin handles base64 encoded emails just fine. Catches them just as effectively!)

These essays have existed in some form for more than three decades now, and it has become obvious that their time has passed. Because “considered harmful” essays are, by their nature, so incendiary, they are counter-productive both in terms of encouraging open and intelligent debate, and in gathering support for the view they promote. In other words, “considered harmful” essays cause more harm than they do good.

On another note, the sales started yesterday and I had a look around this morning. One digital camera shop I went into had a sale, and they were preparing the price tags so I spoke to an assistant. All they were offering off a EUR700 camera was EUR40! Woo! I'm buying! Not..
