An Obsession with Food

When I first started this blog, it was because I had just been laid off, and wanted my savings to last as long as possible. So I undertook this project, trying to stretch leftovers in creative new ways. Just reheating was a cop-out. But now I’m re-employed, so it’ll have to be a bit different. The cheap meals will more likely be lunches from now on, but I still intend to keep up my old habits. More money for the expensive dinner parties we like to throw!

U.S. sales of digital cameras jumped more than 50 percent in 2002.

Practically all the camera shops in Cork now sell digital cameras. One shop sells only digital, and others have a wide range. After printing a few photos using a cheap inkjet printer and photopaper I’m certain that digital’s time has come. Pity about the price of printer consumables though.

Going to war without the Unite …

Going to war without the United Nations – it’s strange, when people whose blogs I read and like, post articles I find offensive and utterly disagreeable. The first comment on this article says it better than I can. I do think the United States will go to war, American planes will carpet bomb Bagdad, a few brave American/British/Australian soldiers will die but soldiers from the member states of the UN will be sent in afterwards on peace keeping missions risking their lives patrolling streets full of vengfull Arabs.
