  1. They’ll understand all of it, but they won’t have known everything you listed. Things such as checking referer logs, and linking often wouldn’t be obvious.
    Thinking about it now, I think you missed out one point that Scoble may not have made either: leave comments on other blogs. That’ll encourage people to visit and it’s another link too!
