Terrible use of english there. Should be either “The Ladies’ Beach”, or “The Lady’s Beach”.
The Irish could have been a bit more poetic as well – maybe “Tra na Mna”
It could be ambiguous alright, but I don’t think it’s supposed to be a singular possessive.
The Irish version is fine as the phrase “Nollag Na mBan” shows. (That’s “Little Christmas” to everyone else!)
So, many ladies claim ownership of the beach! 🙂
To me, “The Ladies Beach” sounds like the “The Ladies Restroom” or toilet. Notice the absence of any apostrophes.
