mod_gzip for Apache works. It works so well in fact that I’ve been using it for about a year now. What it lacks though is documentation. I had just upgraded Apache and PHP on a server and I had forgotten how to install mod_gzip. Their webpage doesn’t have any obvious INSTALL docs, which is why I wrote a mod_gzip install essay ages ago. I’m glad I did now.
Whatever I did, Apache seems to be running a lot faster now!
