John Tierney, friend and class …
John Tierney, friend and classmate, died in 1996 in a car accident in Limerick. I debated long and hard with myself all day whether I should post this or not. I searched extensively on various Irish news sites for reports on the crash but to no avail. Their archives just don’t go back that far. A search on ireland.com found an article about it (second link on that page), but it’s subscription only so I can’t link to it. It seems so meager and little to do but hopefully if my classmates google for details about the accident they’ll find my webpage and this commentry.
The photo below is a detail from the college newsletter of the week following the accident. I found it while cleaning up at home and took a photo of it with my digital camera.

My 1.2 GHZ PIII Commodore SX-6 …
My 1.2 GHZ PIII Commodore SX-64 – on the day I threw out 2 C64s. *sob* I still have the 1541 drive so I’ll be moving my collection of 300 5 1/4 floppies onto the PC in the next few weeks and there on to several backup CDs.
Oh yeah, I remember seeing the SX64 in a computer shop here in Cork a few years ago. It is HUGE! I also had reviews of it from way back in the 80s and they weren’t impressed by it’s portability either then.

Lots of stuff getting thrown out today. Inluding many of my old C64 things. That’s a huge collection of Zzap64 mags,. CF mags, ACE’s and more games than you can shake a stick at. I’m keeping my c64 floppys though, I want to copy them onto the PC this week. Owen’s getting the C64+1541 and my A500 too. It’s a sad day 🙁
