Restoring Old Photographs
Here’s another excellent tutorial by the GIMP Guru, Eric Jeschke. This time he tackles restoring old photographs and does a pretty decent job of it!
I have a few old photos I’d like to try restoring, this might get me motivated to do so!
Yum, yum, Wagon Wheel Biscuits!
Look, they were on special offer in Dunnes on Sunday so I couldn’t resist. I had to buy them! They were crying out to me! I think almost everyone must remember Wagon Wheels from their youth, and they even made Biscuit of the Week here! Unfortunately, all is not sweet in the production of said biscuits. 🙁
Anyway, biscuits were lovely, not quite the taste I remember from my childhood but enough to tempt me to buy again 🙂
Now, if I could only find Fizzlesticks I’d be really happy!
Zak's watching out for Zara
I took this a few weeks ago. Both cats had been asleep and were miaowing for food and attention! Next thing I knew, Zara was rubbing against my leg, and Zak had stretched out on the corridor floor lazily watching his sister play.
Wow – it really /is/ green!
Iraq – EU supporter?
What if the US attacked Iraq to prop up the US Dollar? This article delves into that idea.
Iraq is a European Union beachhead in that confrontation. America had a monopoly on the oil trade, with the US dollar being the fiat currency, but Iraq broke ranks in 1999, started to trade oil in the EU’s euros, and profited. If America invades Iraq and takes over, It will hurl the EU and its euro back into the sea and make America’s position as the dominant economic power in the world all but impregnable.

No, seriously folks! John McCormac asked on the ILUG how many were in the sub 100K category of the Linux Counter. I had a vague memory of registering there ages ago and turns out I’m #52277! ‘Course, on slashdot, I’m #1377 which is slightly better!
Popular Photography Stuff
Mark posted links to several PP articles, some of which I’m interested in!
- Blur Busters! – about the new anti-shake/vibration technology in cameras. Nice.
- Divorce, Digital Style – hehe. Made me smile, could be useful if I want to resurrect some of my old photos!
- The Photoshop Makeover – Nip/Tuck begone! I can do the same on my PC!
- Darkroom vs. Desktop – a fun look at the differences between them!
