Adding fonts to Red Hat 8.0 – …

Adding fonts to Red Hat 8.0 – I knew about ~/fonts but I didn’t know I had to run fc-cache, I should have read the release notes – /usr/share/doc/redhat-release-8.0/RELEASE-NOTES-i386.
True Type fonts were already in a system directory so I didn’t lose out.. Xft handles other dirs.
And specific to Open Office, here’s how to add fonts to that application. Even does TT fonts! I pointed it at ~fonts, dialog box popped up and it kindly informed me that 63 fonts had been imported! I fired up Open Office then, and Arial and all your favourite Windows fonts were there for the picking. My boss would be happy.
