There’s a bug in the server setup of Install-Sendmail that doesn’t let remote
machines connect to your machine as a mail server. I have a fix for it and I’ll
post a new version of the script next weekend.

There is now a German translation of Install-Sendmail, created by Juergen Ginkel.
I haven’t tried it yet, but I think a new way of seperating out languages is called for. Expect a new release of the script soon to meet this requirement and fix some minor bugs.
My apologies to anyone who hasn’t got a reply back to emails they’ve sent. My machine broke down last Thursday, and I’ve also been very busy helping to get a local LUG off the ground. Check out the CorkLUG homepage for more details.

A new version of Install-Sendmail which fixes a bug for those of you serving mail to a network. I also did a lot of work on the interface, based on work done by Morten Bo Johansen. There’s also a Danish translation created by Morten as well. His work is based on the last release but I’ve fixed the bug in it to bump it up to the current release version.

Did anyone manage to compile the LameOver Linux Demo Project? I tried, even installed mikmod, but to no avail. I didn’t try too hard though. Not enough time..

I was in a local college today, University College Cork, when I sat down at a PC and turned on the monitor to be greeted by the KDE welcome screen! Turns out they’re using Suse/KDE as a dual boot with NT. There were two girls using KDE in the front row so I couldn’t resist. I asked them how they found Linux and they said they were very impressed, that it was stable, and even easier than Windows to use!
I just wish the college I attended woke up and replaced some of their NT machines. *grrr*
More bugs and side effects fixed in Install-Sendmail. Get the latest version if you’ve had trouble with it.
I got a patch for version 4.2 but that will have to wait ’till the next version. It’s a patch to get things working on a FreeBSD system.

Another Install-Sendmail update. Sendmail can now be configured so that local mail is always delivered, but remote mail is queued until it’s manually sent. (Handy for networks on dial up connections.)
I added history too so data is saved between runs of the script.

Something new for you:
Install-Webserver is a small script that will install Apache, PHP and MySQL. This is the first release, and while rough, it works well.
New version of Install-Sendmail. This version has way too many new features to list here so just download it and try it!
I wonder what’s happened to linux.scene.org. The site displays an empty directory!
