I had a strange email in my inbox this morning..

———————————–
Subject: I have OCD and need help
Date: Tue, 26 Mar 2002 13:46:04
From: “John XXXXXX”
To: myemail@work.com

I’ve read books, done therapy, and consulted with many for over 16 years without any substantial progress. Among other problems, I need to deal with a mental compulsion to break apart words and phrases into symmetrical groups, the continual counting and sorting of everything I see, and the uncontrollable parade of ideas in my head competing for attention. This interferes with concentration, impairs decision-making, and leads to frustration and depression.

I would welcome suggestions, possible solutions, reference materials, referrals, anything you might recommend. Please email me at user@domain.net

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

John XXXXXXX

I did a Google Search for OCD and found out that it stands for “obsessive compulsive disorder”. This page at health-center.com has an explanation of the disorder. I don’t know why John picked out my work address, although it’s easy to find (google for Donncha O Caoimh) but I’ll reply with the google search.

Your Most Important Financial …

Your Most Important Financial Decision – Be content with what you have.

Contentment isn’t a feeling or a mood; it’s a decision. Only by choosing to be content with what you already have can you accomplish your budget, saving, and investing goals. Without choosing contentment, you’ll be ensnared by a subtle but ever-expanding appetite for money and all the things it can purchase — and worst of all, it’s an appetite that’s never fulfilled.

Ken Guest asked about the Scan SC2500 DVD Player on ILUG-Social. There were a number of good replies and I was sent this email with more details about it’s brand name.

It’s a beautiful day outside. The sun is shining, it’s very pleasant. Unfortunately that holds it’s own dangers. I was driving threw a sunlit area and then turned left into a shaded area. There was a blind man trying to cross the road there. I didn’t see him until I passed him. It gave me quite a fright.

Over 1,500 feared dead in Afghanistan earthquakes – I didn’t hear that on the news this morning!
