I’m selling my car, it’s a sad day but my Alfa Romeo 147 is going on to another owner later on today. The 147 was the first car I really loved to drive. It’s solid on the road, very responsive 1.6lt engine, lots of features and very comfortable to drive.
The cost of living in Ireland has gone crazy in the last year. The cost of motor insurance has always been a problem for the Irish driver, and the Government squeezes more out of the Irish motorist than most other sectors of the economy through taxes.
She’s a beautiful car, and a joy to drive. If you’re thinking of buying, let me heartily recommend them.

SpamAssassin
Yet another release of SpamAssassin is out. Spam is definetly getting harder to track. I got one this afternoon that simply asked me to click on a url. How can you defend against that? Maybe the tmda folks have a point..
New b2-smarty release
An Interview With Mike Davidson of ESPN (Part 1)
Yes, yes, another one you’ve seen at Slashdot already but I’m keeping this interview as a useful reference!

A PHP Application Installer
Wez is working on a generic PHP app installer which I’ll keep an eye on. I’m working on the same thing for b2 so we might be able to swap ideas around. Good luck! (via Simon)
UPDATE – The project has it’s own website now!
Jeremy Zawodny's blog: The Facts… Sort of.
I guess Jeremy never said it explicitly but I (and probably lots of others) assumed Yahoo Finance used MySQL in the delivery of data, but it’s only used in the back-office which is a lot different!
Where I work, Tradesignals.com, uses MySQL to store our market data and it’s obviously used to deliver data. Then again, the Futures stock market is a lot smaller than the range of data Yahoo offers. While I can’t reveal how much data we go through, American futures trading generate a lot of information!
Galeon 1.2.9 out!
Looks like Galeon 1.2.9 is out! The 1.2.x branch is the Gnome 2.0 version so should be a lot easier to get working!
A Digital Sunset Over Europe and Africa
Beautiful photograph of the sun setting over Europe. (literally!)
b2 web-based installer/configurater
I’ve just finished work on a web based installer for b2. It should make it much easier to install b2-smarty.
All you’ll have to do is copy the files from the tarball to where you want b2 to live, and point your browser at install.php there. It’ll present you with a simple form to fill out and then configure the server for you!
After some testing I should have another release out shortly with this and the editor updates mentioned below.
